Counseling Services

All families endure stressful times for a myriad of reasons. Yet for many families this may result in child abuse, domestic violence, substance abuse, run-away teens, or a range of emotional problems for the family members involved. Early intervention in dysfunctional relationships is necessary before problems escalate and cause further harm.

Most families are under-insured or not insured for counseling services that do not require a medical diagnosis. For this reason, counseling services are provided at no-cost or on a sliding scale.

Counseling services provided by master’s degree level therapists are often out-of-reach for the average family. Therapists are licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences, or pre-licensed, post graduate degree, supervised interns, or supervised graduate students enrolled in a local accredited university.

Last year, 9,552 individuals benefited from the assistance provided by Catholic Charities counseling staff.
