Very Rev. Eliseo Lucas, V.F. of Our Lady of Guadualupe and Catholic Charities employees Belinda Marquez, Sr. Kay Wagner and Jessica Meza.

MECCA CA – A big day of family fun happened March 13th in the parking lot of Our Lady of Guadalupe parish. Over 350 individuals from the Eastern Coachella Valley, Mecca, Thermal and Coachella enjoyed themselves with a free lunch of Bar-B-Q Beef, Rice, Beans and Tortillas.

Special invited guest, Supervisor John J. Benoit, 4th District, presented Catholic Charities a commendation. Also on hand was Assemblymen V. Manuel Perez, 80th District, a strong supporter of Catholic Charities.

Entertainment boomed out over the loudspeakers; music was provided by Hora del Sol with Roger Larrañaga and other guests.

Children strolled through the parish parking lot to be delighted by pony rides, face painting, games, jumpers, a visit with firemen and even Dora the Explorer. Afterwards, the children could fill up on Popcorn and Snow Cones.

Meanwhile their parents were able to get critical social services information at 22 booths.
