Bishop Barnes recognizes Catholic Charities for 30 years of service

Over 150 Catholic Charities' staff, volunteers, board members and friends gathered on March 15th at Our Lady of the Rosary Cathedral to give thanks to God for 30 years of serving the poor and those in need in the counties of Riverside and
San Bernardino.

Led by the Most Rev. Gerald R. Barnes, the Eucharistic celebration encompassed Catholic Charities’ past and present work on behalf of the “least of our brothers” and sought God’s continued blessing for the future.

A highlight of the celebration was Bishop Barnes conferring his Episcopal Blessing upon Catholic Charities “for the many lives that have been touched, and the many challenges that have been faced, all for the honor and glory of God and for the building of God’s Kingdom.”

Ken F. Sawa, Catholic Charities’ CEO/Executive Vice President, accepted the award.

At the reception, the guests enjoyed viewing a unique poverty display created by some of the world’s foremost photojournalists, which was provided by Catholic Charities USA.
