Catholic Charities - The Best Kept Secret

The phones at the Catholic Charities’ offices never stop ringing as calls come in requesting help. Our offices receive over 50,000 requests a year for services and these unceasing needs are exponentially growing. Catholic Charities is one of the largest private providers of social services in the Inland counties yet is virtually unknown to the Catholic Community.

We are well known by backstreet families who turn to us as a last resort and by schools, hospitals, police departments, county agencies, and churches inundated with families that just can’t make it. We are well known by broken individuals that we support, mend and help to make it through another day. But, to most to the average Catholics, our work is not well known.

Every day, Catholic Charities surges into the societal trenches providing a wide range of vital social services to thousands of families in desperate need in 42 different cities spread out over a sprawling two-county area. We balance the diverse needs of our urban, suburban, and rural locations with unquestioning compassion and care.

Like the parable of the Good Samaritan illustrates human kindness and to 'Love your neighbor as yourself’, our agency asks no questions of its clients just helps them get on their feet. However, with the nearly unprecedented economic downturn, the challenge of Catholic Charities is to continue to provide these services and to also expand to meet the growing needs of our back street communities.

Even though our agency revenue is threatened with state funding in question, access to foundation grants drying up, and private donors becoming more cautious, Catholic Charities continues to provide social services to those most in need. We need to increase our resources in order to address the dramatic increase in needs due to spiraling unemployment and decreased income of families. We can no longer be the best kept secret in the Inland Empire.

Your help will make a difference to families in need. 100% of all donations are designated for direct services to the community.
